Dubai, United Arab Emirates: 16 January, 2017: The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has appointed Latifa bin Demaithan as Chief of Happiness & Positivity in the Authority, in addition to her role as Office Manager of the Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture.

The new appointment supports the UAE leaderships vision of bringing happiness to all walks of society and preserving the legacy of its inspiring founding fathers a directive that came from His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Supervised by Her Excellency Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness in the UAE, The National Program of Happiness and Positivity has recently appointed a group of 60 chief executive officers (CEO) from various public departments. The CEOs will be responsible for bringing the programs goals to fruition, by nurturing an environment of happiness for the individual, family and community.

Dubai Culture has followed suit by assembling The Happiness Team, which will work to promote happiness and positivity within the Authority. By making happiness a key tenet of its day-to-day work, the Authority hopes to spread a culture of happiness and positivity from the inside out, inspiring its happy employees to redouble their efforts in the culture and arts sectors through new events and projects.

Our Happiness Team will support both The National Program for Happiness and Positivity and Dubais Plan 2021, by enhancing the impact of our artistic and cultural initiatives, and striving to make Dubai a city of happy, creative and empowered individuals."

The Happiness Team at Dubai Culture has launched the first internal initiative of its happiness program – ‘Make it Happen’ – an initiative that will run from the 16th January until the end of March 2017 to spread happiness and positivity among its employees.

Dubai Culture is supporting Smart Dubai in its efforts to lead a culture shift in the city, via programmes and projects that are designed to inspire individuals, businesses and the citys leaders to prioritise happiness.

Through its varied calendar of initiatives, Dubai Culture aims to enrich the citys cultural scene and put a spotlight on the Emirates rich heritage. The Authoritys mandate is to build bridges between different cultures and encourage constructive dialogue, by leading creative initiatives that benefit citizens and residents across the Emirate.
