Reading Box 2024 Explores the Beauty of Storytelling and Poetry
- City Centre Mirdif
- 10:00-10: 00 PM Wednesday
Dubai Culture presents a variety of reading sessions, discussions, talks, creative and cultural workshops, and poetry evenings as part of the ninth Reading Box, which the Authority will organise from 9 to 18 October 2024 at City Centre Mirdif – Central Galleria. The initiative aims to open new horizons for young and adult readers, encouraging them to make reading a habit and a way of life. It is part of Dubai Culture's commitment to supporting the National Literacy Strategy 2016–2026, which embeds cultural values in society and promotes all fields of culture that reflect Dubai and the UAE's ambitious aspirations.
The Reading Box 2024 programme, organised under the umbrella of the School of Life initiative, includes 55 sessions that shed light on the art of storytelling, creative writing, and the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy. It provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about Emirati heritage, explore the world of books, enrich their knowledge, and exchange ideas with a select group of writers, intellectuals, poets, and heritage experts from the UAE and beyond.
